A message from our Commodore, Bill Kidman:

Happy New Year, all the best to you and yours for 2016.  It is going to be another great year for the Club, and the committee are working hard to ensure we are creating a club members and visitors enjoy and recommend to others.

What a great finish to 2015.  We had the success of our youth team at the RNZYS Nespresso  Youth Training week at Kawau; great reports on their teamwork and an excellent result, first with a 30 point lead going into the final race.
Our spring series finished with some tight results and excellent fleets.

On the social side, the Commodores Party was a huge success, the hilarious pantomime fun and a fabulous showcase for the varied talents of our members.  Thank you to Malcolm and his team for the all the hard work preparing and delivering such excellent entertainment.

Been pleasing to hear so much positive feedback on the club and the work the team have been doing in the décor and kitchen;  Lots of cruisers and visitors enjoying our facilities.

Looking forward to a great Bay of Islands Race Week, there will be a huge spectacle of sail on the water, and plenty of club boats competing, good luck everyone, fly the OCC flag proudly.  We are also hosting the Millennium Cup super yachts back at the club, and they will be impressive to watch.

Have a fantastic January, fair winds safe sailing.

I’ll see you out on the race track, cruising in the Bay or up at the Club.

Cheers Bill
