Commodore’s Christmas Party – 15th December
It’s nearly December, which means it’s almost time for the Commodore’s Christmas Party on Saturday 15th December. Check out the details inside your latest issue of Tell Tales.
There will of course be a Children’s Party earlier in the day, and then the main event – the Commodore’s Party & Pantomime ‘Moby Dick’ in the evening. This is a free event for members only, although all children are welcome to come along to the Children’s Christmas Party.
Opti Match Racing – 19th December
On the last Wednesday before Christmas, there will be a chance for everyone to prove just how good a sailor they really are with the Opti Match Race at OCC! This is a fun race for kids and adults, and everyone is welcome to come along and race. See inside Tell Tales for more details.
Latest news from the club
Check out the Tell Tales News & Reports for all the latest from OCC. You’ll find write-ups and photos from our recent social events and races, plus details of the forthcoming social events over the next few months. Remember to keep an eye on the What’s On page for a full calendar of events at OCC.
Remember, OCC couldn’t keep your membership fees so low without an enormous amount of voluntary help from members. There are tons of ways to help out – behind the bar, clearing tables, helping with social events and cruises, working bees, being an ‘Officer of the Day’ for races, and so much more. We’d really like to see some new faces stepping up and helping out, because it’s often the same few people who put in 90% of the effort. If you care about keeping OCC running (and keeping membership fees low!) please do volunteer some time to help out. Speak to anyone on the Committee if you’d like to help.
Snapper Fishing Contest Update
Don’t forget, this Sunday 2nd December it’s the BOISFC Snapper Fishing Contest at OCC. The contest is open to members of either club, and costs just $25 to enter, which includes a drink and a meal at the club afterwards. Plus there’s a special division for sailing vessels! Get the entry forms and full details here.
Please note: If you are out fishing on the day, please be aware that VHF Channel 3 will NOT be used for comp round-ups as stated in the paperwork. Please use channel 77 instead.
