Clash at the Cove posterHave you heard about Clash at the Cove yet? It’s a new annual regatta based at Marsden Cove near Whangarei, that will be taking place on the weekend of 3rd and 4th March, 2012. The regatta is currently ‘fed’ by two coastal races – one from Auckland and one from Gulf Harbour – ensuring a good supply of competitors for the regatta itself.

And now there’s also a ‘feeder’ race from the Bay of Islands too. Organised by Opua Cruising Club, the BOI to Marsden Cove race will start from Brampton Buoy at 10:00am on Friday 2nd March, and finish at Marsden Heads near Whangarei. It’s completely free to enter, and there are loads of prizes on offer. What’s more, all entrants to the Clash at the Cove can enjoy a free marina berth for the duration of the event.
