The much admired Fisher and Paykel Trophy hanging over the Opua Cruising Club’s bar is to stay there for another year. On Sunday the third race of the interclub series against the Russell Boating Club was an OCC whitewash, ensuring a comprehensive points win of the series. Conditions at the start were not promising (see the photo of the excellent fleet of 16 becalmed in Veronica Channel) but soon after a gentle sea breeze filled in and made for an excellent race. OCC boats took all three top places with Jagged Edge winning ahead of Orange Peeler and Nexus. (see results here).
